First Southern Bank:  Deep Roots … Home Grown … Still Growing.

First Southern Bank is the oldest financial institution under continuous operation in the Shoals Alabama region. We got our start in January of 1935 as First Federal Savings and Loan Association. On June 10, 1995, after seeing considerable growth by investing in the families of the area, First Federal Savings and Loan changed its name to First Southern Bank and transitioned to a state commercial bank.

In 2017, First Southern was purchased by a group of Shoals-area businessmen and investors who are committed to providing financial services for businesses and individuals in all the regions we now touch, helping to strengthen local economies. Their vision for the bank and for the economic vitality of the regions have allowed First Southern to increase its ability to serve our customers with excellence.

We have deep roots, we’re home grown, and we’re still growing.

As we grow, we are committed to maintaining the level of intentionality with our customers that we are known for. Today, First Southern provides full-service banking to individuals, families, and businesses in person at our four Shoals-based locations and to many more online. We also provide full-service banking at our Texarkana, Arkansas Branch and our Marshall County, Alabama Branch. We also provide in person loan services at our Loan Production Offices located in New Albany, Mississippi; and Levy County, Florida.
